What is the TANKVOYager?
[dropcap]F[/dropcap]or 20 years Haugen Consulting has parlayed their demurrage resources and veteran industry knowledge into a quarterly publication for the maritime industry at large called TANKVOYager. With humble beginnings as a 1 page printed newsletter, it has grown to become an integral part of HC’s demurrage mitigation process as a resource for maritime law precedent (under both US and English law).
Now, in another step of TANKVOYager’s evolution, it will exist exclusively in an online format at www.TANKVOYager.com. The website has been completely redesigned with more accurate searching, a commenting system for subscriber questions, an intuitive interface, and an updated aesthetic. However, our 20-year-old goal remains the same: to elevate general maritime legal understanding through consistently intelligent, yet accessible, coverage of important issues ranging from the Public Dock Clause to Time Bars to Piracy.
The TANKVOYager also reports on:
- New York and London Arbitration Awards
- U.S. and U.K. Court Rulings
- Tanker Updates
- Port News
- Industry Developments
- Market Trends
- Industry Personnel
Feel free to browse around the site and search through the TANKVoyager archive. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
The purpose of reasoned decisions and published awards is to give guidance to parties in the chartering and operational sectors of the industry. Prior decisions should assist in clarifying and/or standardizing contract clauses.” (Bow Spring, SMA No. 3582)
Haugen Consulting will continue to keep subscribers informed of TANKVOYager updates through email. And in an effort to make this process even more accessible, we’ve launched a series of social media pages to help keep subscribers (and non-subscribers) up-to-date on TANKVOYager as well:
